Az intézményes posztgraduális képzés bevezetése új feladatok elé állította a magyar tudományszervezést. A doktorjelölt hallgatók számának hirtelen növekedése - a doktori cím megszerzéséhez általában fűződő publikációs követelmények folytán - próbára teszi a hagyományos folyóiratok befogadóképességét, így sürgős feladattá teszi új tudományos folyóiratok alapítását. Mindez fokozottan érvényes a társadalomtudományok területén, ahol a tanulmányok rendszerint nagyobb terjedelműek. A fentieken kívül a hagyományos folyóiratokat hosszú átfutási idejük is alkalmatlanná teszi arra, hogy bennük a doktorjelöltek gyors publikációs lehetőséget kapjanak. |
The establishment of the institutional postgraduate instruction set the Hungarian organisation of research a new task: the writing of publications being obligatory to obtain a PhD-degree, the suddenly increased number of PhD-students tests the capacity of the traditional periodicals and at the same time it stimulates the foundation of new academic periodicals. It applies to the arts subjects even more because of the length of the essays. Apart from that, the traditional periodicals cannot provide the PhD-candidates with fast publicational opportunity because of the long period required to get through the press. |
| Szükségesnek látszik hát olyan sokszorosítási és/vagy terjesztési módszereknek a bevezetése, melyek gyorsítják a megjelenés idejét, s egyben biztosítják, hogy a tanulmányok el is jussanak kvalifikált olvasóközönségükhöz. Ez utóbbi nem elhanyagolható tényező abból a szempontból sem, ha azt akarjuk, hogy a Magyarországon készült dolgozatok összhangban legyenek az adott tudományág legújabb kutatási vonalaival, eredményeivel, s ezáltal a doktorjelölt hallgatók a nemzetközileg elismert mércéknek is meg tudjanak felelni. Mindezen követelményeket hívatott kielégíteni a Palimpszeszt, amelyet az ELTE különböző doktori programjainak néhány lelkes hallgatója tervezett és hozott létre. | It seems to be indispensable to introduce new methods of duplication and / or distribution which could shorten the publishing time and at the same time would guarantee that the essays will reach the qualified readers. It is essential as the essays written in Hungary are expected to be in line with the latest trends and results of the given disciplines, thus the PhD-students are expected to meet the international requirements. Designed by some enthusiastic students attending different PhD-courses at Eötvös University, Palimpszeszt should satisfy all these demands. |
| A folyóirat háromféleképpen jelenik meg: havonta az Interneten, ugyancsak havonta fénymásolt formában is, kis példányszámban (főleg belső terjesztésre), és végül egyszer egy évben nyomtatásban, mint évkönyv, amely a legjobb megjelent tanulmányokat gyűjti és adja közre. Ez a három forma biztosítja majd a megjelenés gyorsaságát, a potenciálisan széles olvasókört, és nem utolsósorban némi maradandóságot a legjobb tanulmányok számára. | This periodical will be published in three ways: each month it will be circulated through Internet and as a photo-copied edition (having only a limited number of copies designed for inner distribution) and, last but not least, it will be printed in the form of annals, containing the best essays published so far. All these forms may ensure quickness of publication, a potentially wide reading public and "eternity" for the best works. |
| A Palimpszeszt történeti, nyelvészeti és irodalmi tanulmányoknak ad helyet. Állandó rovattal jelentkezik benne a Centre des Hautes Etudes de la Renaissance (C.H.E.R.) az Atelier - Magyar-Francia Posztgraduális Műhely, valamint a Komparatisztika és a Romanisztika Doktori Programok, de a szerkesztésében más doktori programok is részt vesznek, és a folyóirat természetesen nyitva áll a tovbbi tudományos műhelyek, intézmények előtt. | Palimpszeszt will contain historical, linguistic and literary essays supplying the Centre des Hautes, tudes de la Renaissance, the Atelier (a Hungarian-French postgraduate workshop), the Comparatistic Programme and the PhD-programme of Romanistic Studies with a permanent column. Other postgraduate programmes will also participate in editing and, of course, it will be open to any other workshops and institutions. |
| Végül, a tudományos munkák mellett, a filológiai interpretáció további lehetőségeként a műfordítás is helyet kap a Palimpszesztben. Sőt, e téren a folyóirat mellett még könyvsorozat is indul, középkori és reneszánsz regény- és versfordításokkal: olyan értékes művek ezek, amelyek számot tarthatnak a nagyközönség érdeklődésére is. | Besides the scientific studies there will also be room for literary translations (as another possible kind of philological interpretation). What is more, a series of books compiling translations of medieval and Renaissance novels and poems is planned to be published including some valuable works worthy of the interest of a wider public. |
| Reméljük, hogy az említett gyakorlati meggondolásokon túl a Palimpszeszt az Interneten való megjelenéssel képes lesz arra, hogy a fiatal kutatókat a nemzetközi tudomány porondjára helyezze, míg a könyvsorozat az európai kultúra értékeinek magyarországi terjesztéséhez járulhat hozzá lényegesen. Így, ezzel a kétirányú áramlással válhat fontos kultúrateremtő fórummá. | We hope that Palimpszeszt will be able to help the young researchers to international public and, on the other hand, the series of books will make a great contribution to the distribution of European culture in Hungary. Thus, by means of this two-way information flood Palimpszeszt may become a creative cultural forum of great importance. |
